What has been the hold up?
After years of struggle, a promising cancer cure is a significant step closer to becoming readily available. For decades those who have been vying for and using Dr. Burzynski’s therapy, were in constant fear of losing access to his treatments. Considering the stressful and expensive fight that he has had to deal with, many people would have thrown in the towel and given up. So, when I read in my newsfeed yesterday that the Texas Medical Board’s case against Dr. Burzynski was dismissed at the end of 2012, I was rather amazed!
I’ve had particular interest in looking at cancer treatments because so many people close to me, including my father, have died over the years of cancer (or the side effects of the treatments). It seemed for them, no matter what conventional cancer treatment they had, the cancer regressed (if they were fortunate), their bodies, however, never recovered to a healthy state. They eventually passed away from either the cancer that came back or from another immune system compromising disease not long thereafter.
There are several alternative cancer therapies that I’ve read about over the last few years, one of which is the use of Antineoplastons developed by Dr. Burzynski in his personalized gene targeted cancer therapy. Dr. Burzynski started offering Antineoplaston therapy at the Burzynski Clinic, in Texas, as experimental treatment in 1977. He holds American patents on these treatments.
Now, one may ask “What has been the hold up?” I won’t write all the frustrating details about his struggle through the red tape, but if you are interested, there is a free movie that you can access, and another to be released this year (details below). Although the movie is rather one-sided, from my point of view, it needed to be, to show the difficulties of the underdog trying to fight the establishment.
It is mentioned in the new movie trailer that Dr. Burzynski is “the first and only scientist in United States history to enter the federal drug approval process for a proprietary cancer therapy without any financial support from the American government, the pharmaceutical industry, or the cancer establishment.”
The exciting news is that statistically his clinical trial data have served results (varying by cancer types) that should get your attention. In addition, the Antineoplaston treatment is without chemo or radiation (and hence, without their sometimes devastating side-effects). Personalized gene targeted cancer therapy has been in the news recently, but Dr. Burzynski has been doing this for decades.

Hi Chaya,
I know what you mean, things like this really makes one wonder! If you have a bit of time take a look at the film – it really puts things into a different perspective – it would have been a whole different post regarding how this has been held up for years.January 28, 2013 — 19:09
I hadn’t heard of this, thanks for bringing it to my attention! Wow–my mouth dropped open at the part where he’s the “first and only” to look for FDA approval without the funding from the Big Dogs…I tend to be a conspiracy theorist on such things.
